Many patients want to hear from other patients. One way of achieving this is to highlight patients in our new ‘Patient of the Week’ blog. Time allowing we will ask many of you to share with fellow patients some of your keys to success.
Club New You (CNY) Are you happy that you had bariatric surgery?
LB Yes, I only wish I had it many years earlier.
CNY Would you recommend this to your friends and family?
LB Yes, I have told anyone that expressed interest in knowing about it. And maybe some that didn’t. LOL
CNY Have you told your friends that you have had surgery and what do they think about it?
LB They have watched with interest and some have inquired in depth about the experience. I always tell them it has worked for me.
CNY Which procedure did you choose to have and why?
LB I had the lap band. It appealed to me because of the health advantages.
CNY What is the hardest lifestyle change that you have had to deal with?
LB Social eating has been the hardest.
CNY Are there any foods that you have trouble eating?
LB Corn and grapes.
CNY What foods, if any, do you miss eating?
LB Fried Chicken.
CNY What types of activities do you do for your exercise?
LB Walking with 3 lb weights, and total body works type equipment.
CNY Any words of wisdom for our present patients or for people thinking about surgery?
LB I was a type 2 diabetic with hypertension and other health problems before surgery. Since then my diabetics, cholesterol and hypertension have returned to normal and my other health problems have greatly improved. If I could do it over again I would only do it sooner. Dr. Woodman is a man who tells it like it is. And let’s face it, if sugar coating the problem had worked I would not have needed Dr. Woodman’s help in the first place. He holds me accountable and I need that. If you are not serious about this, then it is not for you.
CNY Thanks Linda! Keep up the good work!
