PATIENT OF THE WEEK LOUELLA WEBB
Many patients want to hear from other patients. One way of achieving this is to highlight patients in our new ‘Patient of the Week’ blog. Time allowing we will ask many of you to share with fellow patients some of your keys to success.

Club New You (CNY) Are you happy that you had bariatric surgery?
Louella (LW) “Yes, I am very happy that I put all my fears and skepticism aside and had bariatric surgery. It has really changed my life tremendously.”

CNY Would you recommend this to your friends and family?
LW “I would most definitely recommend my friends and family to have this life-changing procedure done.”

CNY Have you told your friends that you have had surgery and what do they think about it?
LW “I told my friends and they were more excited than I was about it. Most of them have had the procedure done themselves while some are trying very hard to have it done.”

CNY Which procedure did you choose to have and why?
LW “I chose to have the Lap Band surgery done. After doing lots of research and inquiring about it from previous participants, I felt that it was the best and safest procedure for me.”

CNY What is the hardest lifestyle change that you have had to deal with?
LW “Not being able to try various foods because I fear it would not digest.”

CNY Are there any foods that you have trouble eating?
LW “I have trouble eating things such as bread and barbeque. It feels as if it gets stuck, and I have to vomit to release it.”

CNY What foods, if any, do you miss eating?
LW “My favorite foods of all time are barbeque ribs and Chinese rice. Now, it seems as if I can’t tolerate eating them so I most definitely miss those two food items.”

CNY What types of activities do you do for your exercise?
LW “I love to walk thirty minutes to an hour for exercise. Along with walking, I jump on my trampoline and play basketball.”

CNY Any words of wisdom for our present patients or for people thinking about surgery?
LW “I would like to tell everyone who’s thinking about weight loss surgery to make sure you’re doing it for yourself. Make sure you do your research, and choose the procedure that you feel is right for you. Also, get a weight loss goal and make sure you do everything in your power to accomplish it.”

CNY Thanks Louella! Keep up the good work!
