Many patients want to hear from other patients. One way of achieving this is to highlight patients in our new ‘Patient of the Week’ blog. Time allowing we will ask many of you to share with fellow patients some of your keys to success.

Club New You (CNY) Are you happy that you had bariatric surgery?
TW “Very happy. I think this is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I’m so grateful to have had this experience.”

CNY Would you recommend this to your friends and family?
TW “Absolutely. I have and also speak to anyone who wants to talk about surgery.”

CNY Have you told your friends that you have had surgery and what do they think about it?
TW “I have told them. They are all very happy for me and have been there for me during the good and bad times.”

CNY Which procedure did you choose to have and why?
TW “I chose to have the Lap Band, because it is less invasive. When I did my research on both the gastric and the Lap Band I decided on the Lap Band.”

CNY What is the hardest lifestyle change that you have had to deal with?
TW “Getting into exercising that was definitely the hardest but once you start you don’t want to stop. It actually makes you feel good and gives you more energy.”

CNY Are there any foods that you have trouble eating?
TW “Steak which I don’t eat at all. I stick to what I should eat and do great. Just follow the diet plan.”

CNY What foods, if any, do you miss eating?
TW “Bread was always my favorite and diet drinks. You have to want to lose the weight. I don’t miss them at all now.”

CNY What types of activities do you do for your exercise?
TW “Walking, treadmill, stairsteps.”

CNY Any words of wisdom for our present patients or for people thinking about surgery?
TW “Do your research. Be sure this is what you want. It’s not an easy fix. You still have to work at it, and eat the right foods. Keep up with regular Dr. appointments. If you are not willing to give up your favorite foods and follow what you need to be successful then it’s not for you. I have followed my diet and exercise plan and am the happiest I have ever been. Thanks to Dr. Woodman and his great staff!”

CNY Thanks Tammy! Keep up the good work!
